I'm 36 and I've only been to three job interviews in my life. I got the job all three times due to nepotism.

I got into my job through 'networking' (my friend got me into his dad's job) and now I'm earning 3k USD which is a LOT in these lands

I have been emailing schools directly and it seems like some of them have positions they'd like to fill. I've got at least 2 interviews lined up next week and I'm going to learn about their "missions" as educational institutions to tell them how their values align with mine and I'm a buddhist who'd totally love to join their team to work on the personal growth of the students. I have to be prepared for any and all questions as a young applicant (read supplicant) who'd only like to teach English in a god damn school.

My shitty office job set up a Linkedin account to hire people.

In under ONE SINGLE OUR they got almost 1500 applications, and the websited blocked the ad until they paid like 300 usd. They could've probably gotten over 10 THOUSAND resumes in under a single day

How can you possibly compete against 10k random people?

I pretty much gave up applying to job offers, i only got my current job by directly emailing the company asking if they had any positions, so this could work again, but probably not since i got in as an intern at first
