I wonder how African, Caribbean and Latinx black pipo, particularly those that have migrated to the US, feel about African-Americans (the ones whose families lived in the US for centuries as slaves).
Can white Americans tell apart the behavior of, say, Haitians or Nigerians from regular African-Americans?
Do black latinx in America (Dominican, Colombian, Cuban, etc...) feel closer to other Latinx or to African-Americans?

I'm black and I always wondered this. From what I've seen tho, they tend to associate more with other Spanish speakers than us. I guess linguistic ties are stronger

Caribbean Africans tend to be much more friendly and live and let live. They party alot and it's inclusive. Family is incredibly important, the it's much warmer and kind of at a constant condition.

A good example is the behavior on the cruise ships. Caribbean blacks might do some high class shit or have a giant orgy in a club everyone invited,then American blacks... It's destructive

I think I might be biased considering that I was raised by immigrants parents and born in the states but yes there are differences. Young African kids want to be like african americans just like every other zoomer class around the world. I appreciate my African culture and actually grew up in a place in which they were more Africans and Caribbeans than they were African Americans. I really enjoy african American culture particularly music, love Anita, Janet, Luther, Chaka etc. I am also very confident in my Ghanaian culture as well. I also like stalking the back and forth between the two cultures on Twitter lol

I think it depends on the groups:
>actual Africans
They're usually from higher economic strata than the average African-American (Somalis are a major exception), plus they often (not always) have certain foreign religious beliefs (Islam, Ethiopian Christianity, pagan traditions, etc.).
>Anglophone Caribbeans (Jamaicans, Bahamians, etc.)
Basically the same as African-Americans except for their accents.

Basically the same as other Latinxs from our perspective. I know the different countries have their own accents and whatnot, but they're still very similar to each other culturally. They're certainly closer to Mexicans than to African-Americans.

Me, I do think that aspects of there culture is dysfunctional but throughout my life none of them have ever been hostile towards me, a black shy autist. As I mentioned I enjoy african american culture and history truthfully. To me there are just people.
