Just because you dont see police/counter-terror units of foreign countries at the scene doesnt mean there is no help. On the contrary post 911 and especially since 2015 there has been a very significant increase in cooperation between countries (in and outside of EU structures) when it comes to fighting terrorism. That goes from intelligence sharing to dismantling finance networks. When it comes to counter-terrorism there are hardly any borders left between countries.

It's not a good idea even in principle. EU funds and easy trade brought Poland from post-communist poverty. You'd have to build the country from the ground up to be "independent", and no one is willing or able to do that.
