I am of Northern European Amerimutt extraction and mom and dad are too, and dad and I have always hated coffee. Mom drinks it sometimes. I drank it once or twice during childhood and absolutely hated it. I gave it an honest try another three or four times in my early 20s but it's just fucking terrible, I can't stand it, so I stopped trying. A bitter cup of liquid shit for no good reason when I could have a water, an orange juice or a Dr. Pepper. Some things aren't for everybody. The smell can be enjoyable, but I can't stand the taste. Dad reports the same thing, the smell is fine and agreeable, the taste is not. Do we share some sort of autism gene? Cold, hot, sugar, doesn't matter. I know I hate it and I know not to bother with it anymore.
It's too bad because I understand it's a mild stimulant and is associated with increased activity. I use soda for the same thing, I suppose, but at least it's cool and actually tastes good because it's liquid goyslop. Now that I think about it, energy drinks have been common for years but I've never bothered with those, just a soda. Energy drinks can cause heart trouble I hear, not that I'm too concerned about my own health.
