TV Loicenses
Why are only Brits made fun of for having BBC bobbies asking for their loicenses, while in Japan, they do the exact same, but nobody ever talks about them?

Is nip tv good?
Do
They have mall cops send you vaguely menacing letters if you don't pay for the loycence?

Of course they do. They're the same as in the UK. They'd break into our apartment or reach their hands through your doors/windows like British ones.

Even gaijins aren't exempt. You can read their stories about it as well.

Germany, Austria and Switzerland mandate having a TV loicense for merely having a roof over your head, no actual TV required.

Same here.
The guy told me I still needed a tv license even if I only had a radio or a smartphone (because you can watch tv on the internet). It's insane. I didn't have a tv and I haven't watched any tv at all in the last seven years, but I still had to pay.
What I don't get is, if a tv license is going to be essentially compulsory, why don't they just calculate it into the tax?

So the billions flow into private pockets, not the government budget.

Japanese television is generally regarded as terrible, I'm pretty sure, and I love Japan.

The best strategy is going NEET and applying for the exemption.

It's fucking dreadful, absolute brainrot.

People sometimes post funny clips from game shows and think it's all like that but it's not. 99% of it is complete garbage that you would think was made for 5 year olds.

Really bad acting, fake laughing, terrible slapstick style comedy, constant cuts to the audience or a panel member for their EPIC REACTION and sponsors flying all over the screen.

here it came from the times when tv was not something everyone had and it was seen as a luxury. the same national broadcasting company got their radio expences covered through the national budget because that was seen as a necessity. weather forecasts, emergency warnings and such. thankfully we abandoned it and now they are fully funded from the national budget. i kinda like it, they are far more gutsy when it comes to producing shows than thoose who gave to care about commercial interests.
