It's weird how it happened in Hispanic America. Places under the same virreinato came out very different from each other.
Brazil had one central colonial government and sometimes a separate one to manage the Amazon. Almost all states have a similar pattern, with a majority of European ancestry, usually around 62%, and most often similar parts of native and black ancestry except in BA and MG. Meanwhile look at former New Spain, it's all over the place with no clear trend. How could that have happened?
