Are you referring to the sanctions targeting members of the government and the United Socialist Party of Venezuela? They weren't directed at ordinary citizens, but the regime's statist policies made citizens' economies heavily dependent on government aid. Exports and imports are severely limited by government policies. In any case, the political and diplomatic crisis predates the sanctions years ago.

Furthermore, the thousands of extrajudicial political assassinations, torture, and imprisonments every day, as well as the outlawing of political parties, are unrelated to the sanctions.

i was just impliying they dont have any saying on any geopolitical stuff, and also their president supports Maduro probably.

>>215883578
yes, i went to Chile a lot of times and they hate venezuelans over there, even more than any other inmigrant (haitians, colombians, etc) but their president is mostly aligned with Maduro (althought he critisiced Maduro when he comited fraud on the presidential election).
But even if they want to do something Venezuela is too far away, they dont have the military capability to reach Venezuela.

No, I'm referring to economic sanctions. America ounishes other countries which buy Venezuelan oil.
Anonymous Dominican Republic No.215883911 [Report] >>215884007
>>215883773
Literally any country can trade with Venezuela. Do you think the US blocks the Venezuelan coast so no oil tankers can reach the UK or vice versa or something? That's not how sanctions work.

Yes, and many other European and even Latin American countries have done so. The only bad thing is that they only do it to a few regimes. Any regime that comes to power through force should be subject to sanctions by democratic nations, including "allied" regimes like Qatar or Saudi Arabia.

This is part of my personal foreign policy:

No, because the French and British monarchies of the 18th century were not political regimes that had come to power thanks to the popular will, unlike the current governments of France and the USA.

Absolutely. There are three kinds of people that should not be considered legally human and deserve no rights
>pirates, in the traditional naval sense
>drug smugglers, of the life ruining sort of drugs
>suicide bombers and their enablers
Any other group at least cares about collateral damage to some degree and would consider other people in harm's way to be theocratically undesirable, but the above three do not care and should be publicly executed.

>the French and British monarchies of the 18th century were not political regimes that had come to power thanks to the popular will
Neither did the American government, nor the French government of 1789 for that matter. The American founding fathers were slave-owning oligarchs, and the "democracy" they founded allowed only allowed 12% of the Adult White male population, even less of the total population, to vote.

The revolutionary government set up in France committed atrocities against men, women, and children in Vendee, and Robspierre was a brutal dictator.

America isn't a democracy today either, its politicians are bribed by AIPAC and megacorporations, its electoral system is first-past-the-post so if you didn't vote for a republican or a democrat, you're not represented in the legislature, and both republicans and democrats manipulate electoral boundaries to increase their chances of getting elected.
