I remember when I was four years old, sitting in kindergarten. I would look at the white kids with blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin, and then compare them to my own brown skin, brown eyes, and black hair. I thought to myself that I was ugly and they were beautiful and superior. I stared in awe at my angelic classmates, and then I would look in the mirror and feel disgusted at the brown reflection I saw.

It wasn't until I was much older that I learned about the doll experiment. Brown, Black, and Asian children often describe the white doll as beautiful, intelligent, kind, and honest, attributing every positive trait to it. In contrast, they assign negative traits—like being ugly, stupid, evil, dishonest, and violent—to the dolls that resemble themselves.

This experiment has been repeated in various parts of the world, continually yielding the same results. It doesn't matter whether it's conducted in the West, Latin America, Asia, or Africa; the white doll is consistently considered superior.

All of these videos are from different countries. Italy, Singapore, America, Mexico. They all loved the white doll and hated the brown one, which resembled them.

This is the same way I felt as a kid but was too embarrassed to talk about it. Little did I know all the other browns felt the same way. Of course they will deny it now.

No one taught me to think this way. If anything I was taught that white people are bad and I should be proud of my brown skin by my teachers. It didn't change how I felt deep down and that feeling came innately from my core and only grew as the years passed by.

I want to be white so badly.
