I've never had a bad experience with cops and I'm brown and live in a city with a supposedly brutal police force. They're mostly just friendly. The one time I got a ticket I just ended up talking to the guy about cars for like 20 minutes after.

The closest bad experience I had was in New York when a cop seemed irritated when I asked for directions.
