It's neither Indian nor Arab nor Iranian.
It's Chinese. The actual Aladdin story doesn't even exist in the original Thousand tales and 1001 Arabian Nights.

It was added later like hundred years ago by a French traveler who heard about the story from a merchant in Baghdad who apparently told him about the story happening in China. The closest reasonable ethnicity for Aladin could be Uighur.

Aladdin, Sinbad and some other stories aren't in the original 1001 Arabian nights. The original "Thousand tales" was a 5th century Persian collection of folktales, fables, and myths sourced from India, Iran and Arabia. It all got sterilized into Islamic versions of the stories after the Arab conquest of Persia. You can look up the English translations of the Arab versions of 1001 Arabian nights from the 8th or 9th century if you want you won't find Aladdin in there.

1001 nights is some Persians taking Indian stories and mixing them with their own and then Arabs taking both those and adding their own. So the movie
reflects all those influences. However Aladdin itself is a later addition and is Syrian.

Aladdin is a perfect thing. The movie was good, the soundtrack was good, the video games were good, the sequels were good and the TV show was good. I don't know why more things can't strive to be Aladdin.
