how much money for food and tickets I need in Istanbul? Is 800 liras fine for a dinner? I'll be going there in November.

Turkey is kinda scammy, ESPECIALLY in tourist areas. When I was planning a middle-east trip it was on my radar but I decided against it. Went to Jordan instead in the middle of the Iran/Israel conflict and didn't regret it despite rockets flying over my head. The only area full of gypsy assholes was Petra, everywhere else was very lawful and hospitable.
