I’ve been to Korea. It’s a nice country considering they were among the poorest countries in the world less than a century ago. Also the fact that you’re comparing it to heavyweights like Japan or China is a compliment in itself.
That being said it’s kinda weird how they haven’t produced any great works of art be it music, fashion, painting, cinema, literature, games, architecture.. Even their cars are mediocre. I’ve also noticed that they seek approval and respect from other people. Korean-Americans seem to be suffering from an inferiority complex, and this current global obsession with their popular culture allows some of them to speak their minds freely, revealing deeply seated hunger for attention.
Well it’s just unfortunate that they’re not gonna produce great stuff like Japan did.
