There are "Roma" people (gyppos) in other european countries as well, like Slovakia , Bulgaria, Hungary and Spain who established there separately from the main cluster of gypsies in the balkans hundreds of years ago and they still call themselves as roma. Coincidentally or not, 20 years ago Romanian nationalists were also very anti-Russian, anti-Jewish and they were very Orthodox also.
