i used to when i was 14-18, mainly melodeath and tech death bands like the black dahlia murder, the faceless, amon amarth, rings of saturn, after the burial but also deathcore/metalcore like veil of maya, carnifex, oceano, architects, miss may i, etc.

I used to love metal when I was 14-18, perfect music to drown out the voices in my head, unironically, I have schizophrenia.

I don't know why, but after recovering from psychosis, it all sounds like shit. Only fusion genres like shoegaze metal, 2000s numetal, or experimental metal sound good to me these days.

Strange, but I used to listen to a lot of black, death and stoner metal bands. One of my favorite was cough, night now they sound like shit, the vocalist sounds like a moody teenager.

I only stick to the boomer classics, I'm too vanilla for other subgenres.
