In Germany we say "In China ist ein Sack Reis umgefallen." when a nothingburger happened. Literally translates to "A sack of rice fell over in China.".

That doesn't really make sense they typically will try to mark areas and sometimes they aren't in the woods. Maybe mountains, tundra, rivers, creeks, swamps.
Polar bears do not typically shit in the woods. I would guess 70-80% of bear shitting does not occur in the woods. They shit near their caves or hunting grounds or water sources, places where they safe
