When I was in college I used to take mushrooms and go for night runs across town. One night after taking too many mushrooms I ran for a solid 8 miles in less than 45 minutes. Never been in better shape but can't find any psychs now that I've moved away and wouldn't want to take them anyway after I've fried my mind this much already. Still, I miss those runs every now and again.

I'm a road bike fag, I don't cycle to commute (usually) but for fun
summer is 100 times better than autumn/winter for leisure cycling

I fucking hate commuting during cold dark early winter "nights" (16:30). It's usually either -2° so I have to be careful not to slip or +2° so there's muddy water everywhere on public roads and I have to wash the bike weekly because the fenders and lower frame get coated in grime.

This isn't Germany, you can't even imagine the tiny rivers of grime that form on the sides of the road (where the bikes go) during foggy drizzly weather of early winter. Ultimately this happens because there's a gap in our infrastructure, so peasants driving their shitboxes from unpaved farm roads into the city are the main culprit. Oh, and the road sanitation is mostly performatory, often making things even worse. The vehicle sprays the edges of the road with clean water which turns muddy, duh.

Rain won't wash the underside of the bike.
