From what I've been hearing from people the long distance trains in the UK (England specifically, don't know about Scotland) are extremely expensive and barely keep 3 departures a week. When I was in Germany (Bavaria and BW) DB was a pleasant surprise despite the memes I've seen

That’s about it. If you want to get A to B, spend more than you would on a plane ticket (in long distance travel) and don’t mind waiting extra time in case of bullshit then you can take the train. Otherwise get a coach which costs a fraction of the price but takes longer. Trains gone to shit. Fuck em
