I have a black friend from Burundi, the other day while he was stroking my hairy arm (he's fascinated by my Mediterranean hairiness compared to his African hairlessness) he asked me if I know any African scientists, when I started naming the few African American scientists I know he immediately stopped me and told me African Americans aren't African, they're just American. I asked him how come? He said you have to be born and raised in Africa to be an African, he then called me his African brother. I never was more flattered in my life.
What do my African American friends on /int/ think of my buddy's take?

Africans don't like us, although I don't mind them too much, but there's a large fraction of the population that seems very concerned with whatever black Americans are up to more than their own country, for example there are South Africans who live in towns that still have "whites-only" pools, get abused by tribal members in the guise of "customs" (which were hardly a thing before colonization btw), and get their power shut off for half the day, but still spend their 6 hours of internet talking about us in the USA for some reason
idk if you think all of us are about returning to "mother africa", but the majority are first and foremost concerned with our own lives in our own cities

Black people are just normal people like you and me, they just look different but on the inside they're the exact same as you and me. Racism makes me really sad, Africans had done absolutely nothing to Europeans to deserve slavery and colonization yet they were the victims of the most horrific crimes against humanity ever committed and to this day they still suffer with the dire consequences of what you've done to them and no European has the balls to fix their mistake and do right by the black sons of Africa.
