In Finland you do your required conscription service which is basically summer camp for adults and then return to Finnish society and act as if you actually fought in active combat and know anything about how wars are fought.

You got it all backwards, if anything those are the countries that deserve to be protected and have heavy military conscriptions and funds, not desert shithole #2726 ranked 114 in every metric that matters but spends billions on propaganda and military every year
Why the fuck would you serve mozambique or morocco or algeria or peru over denmark and norway

It's better to have a country with people who are militarily experience because even if they don't need it now, they may need it at a future point.

The military in Bulgaria is a really nice career path. Great pay, almost no requirements to join, spend most of your time in bases in the woods with nothing happening all day, early retirement. Maybe it's similar in Scandinavia

Conscription is cost effective way to increase a country's defensive capabilities. The Americanon is partly right that the average conscript has no idea how wars are fought, but it's still good that everyone is already trained to do the most basic things in whatever field they specialized in.

the countries you mentioned are really defensible so having a military makes sense
finland held out against soviet union well enough that they only lost karelia and not the entire country in the peace conference and norway managed to sink a battleship carrying 2000 german troops
if anything a flatland like poland surrounded by bigger neighbours shouldnt even bother building a military
