This game's AI is truly atrocious, the game manages to keep the same map (with two or three less duchies/counties) up until the 1800s.

That’s just AI. I meant the player. Eu4 has all kinds of cockblocks that prevent you from blobbing. It especially egregious in the last patch where ai devs like crazy and you cannot full annex some random sea shithole in 1750 because their provinces are all 50 dev.

I almost never play natives, I think Paradox never fully expands upon them and they feel kind of lackluster, the only time I have played natives and had a good time was with the Aztecs, and it was due to the Doom mechanic (having to get tons of subjects and then sacrifice their leaders).

I always have a fun time with Castile, so I'll stick with big Spain.

the last update for eu4 added some mechanics and missions that makes it really fun before the spanish arrive, but it still suffers from there not being much to do after you get control of the region.

My man, there are entire countries in eu4 whose entire strategy is farming rng. See Austria. Also, half the "hard country" strats are about rerolling a thousand times for the first 5 years, e.g. Albania or Byzantium. If Florry birds while playing those, then it's fair game.

People always praise the Spanish for conquering the Nahua peoples and ending sacrifices, however, I would like to bring back the "Is it really that bad? Ok, sacrifice your leader" mentality, or at least sacrifice your neighboring cities cuz, idk, the gods are thirsty o algo.
