in Finland welfare benefits are paid on the first non-weekend day of the month, which is today. there is always a big commotion in low rent apartments during this day and the most profitable week of the month for kebab shops and the state run alcohol monopoly stores. how does it work in your country?

It's the last business day of the month here. I don't speak for the entire country or province, but in this tirefire of a city, you have to wait half an hour or more to get a cab, can't buy pork (it's cheap here, usually sold out by 9am), high THC indicas fly off the shelf, can't find bottom shelf liquor or discount beer, and they take anything over 40% off the shelves for a week.
