bits are so cheap, it literally doesn't matter.

languages evolved to be written by hand, and when you consider just how many strokes are needed for asian languages, to express the same, western languages seem more efficient.

also, languages in the east have like gagillion letters, and its the main reason why typewriters and keyboards in general have been such a pain to replicate for eastern languages.

Without autosuggest features, or drawing the symbols, they have no option but use western keyboards.

You know what's really inefficient, having a character for every fucking little thing, and having people learn hundreds if not thousands of them to be able to write.

Yes, phonetic systems take a little bit more space, but you can literally write anything with a small set of letters. Even new words are easily written.
That's efficient.

Hangul is much better than what Japan and China have (Japan even having 3 sets of alphabets).

But Hangul still looks cluttered, and not sure if it's that much better strokes-wise.
It looks like it sacrifices length for density. Looks way more cluttered than the latin alphabet.
