Italians have never lived there

Dalmatians =/= Italians
Dalmatian language isn't even mutually intelligible with Italian

Brainlet take, when italy was united 160+ years ago they all spoke dialects, a sicilian and a milanese wouldn't be able to understand each other

Quizzes are to Croatia what cricket is to India. Nobody can explain why we're so obsessed with pub quizzes and TV quizzes and other quizzes.
One of our chasers from The Chase (which is ofc hugely popular in Croatia) says that it may be because:
>back in Yugoslavia there were like three TV shows and one of them was a quiz show (Kviskoteka)
>the Croatian education system demands from pupils to memorize a bunch of minute details and nerdy trivia, and this makes us good at quizzes
>Croats have a "small nation's complex" and therefore feel compelled to learn a bunch of shit about other nations, either to feel accepted by them or because of mere curiosity about the world at large

so you only confirm "Italians" is an artificial concept and Dalmatians aren't part of it because they never considered themselves such

Deep Croatia lore is that one of our biggest celebrities is a guy who was really good at quizzes. Ever since his death there's been a big annual quiz memorial dedicated to him

Italians (Venetians) came to Kvarner and Dalmatia after Croats had lived there for centuries. Italians only lived along the west Istrian coast before the Slavic majority but we took that as compensation for the early 20 century Italian expansion.
Furthermore the native balkan formerly Dalmatian-Romance speaking population is mostly still living in Dalmatia, they just speak a Slavic language now.

Yes they don't have a fully developed seaport but they do technically have sea access. It's very small.
