After watching Detectorists I was jealous but apparently there's a lot of laws prohibiting doing metal detecting
Couldn't you find coins or artifacts from all over the world?

Yeah
Sad but some people in Arizona used to sometimes plunder old hill graves too
Basically on the top of certain hills there would be rings of raised mounds, I forget which civilization(s) their dead this way. The remains so old and the area was so dry that when they dug them up all that would be left of the person was a little white later of dust where their bones had been. And people would take the burial trinkets and donate them to museums or sell them privately and probably illegally.
I get that it's the only way of preserving any history about these peoples who died out or merged in long before western explorers found the place, but it makes me sad to think about their favorite stuff being separated from them after all those years buried with it

It is what it is. it is the same in my country. Our ancestors didn't leave any written records so burial goods will have to do.
