My father is severely mentally handicapped. He can't even read and he can barely speak coherent sentences. My uncle (his brother) owns a successful business and just gives him a lot of money to do basically nothing. He watches the same few movies every day on the couch. All of them are comedies. He likes Shrek, Elf, Austin Powers. He laughs and claps at them literally.

My mother is more similar to me, I guess.

My dad is a hick who doesn't do anything with his life besides work, eat, then immediately go to bed. He doesn't have any friends or real interests. Just work and bed. I suspect he only married my mom to trap her into having a cook and cleaner for life.
I also have nothing going on in my life, but I go online.

Dad was married four times, had six children and worked some higher management job for the railway. In 2009 mom (his first wife) got a call that he had died from a heart attack in his office. His third wife eventually shared some info that he was under investigation for drugs and some kind of money theft/scheme at work. I don't know.
He was an asshole, he probably coked himself into a heart attack and died.

I'm a 34yo neet living on permabux/sick pension, wizard, never talk to anyone expect mom who lives nearby. Never tried drugs, I rarely drink and yeah. I don't feel related to that man at all.

Identical. We look the same (comparing pics of dad in his 30's to me now = same dude), have the same hobbies, same interests, we both drive a Volvo 245, we both listen to metal/blues, we both like fishing etc.

Don't get too hung up on it, OP. My dad grew up on a farm, was a starting college football player for a D1 school, built the house I grew up in almost by himself, could fix anything, shuns computers and smartphones to this day, and yet I still ended up the same as you.

They met because my aunt (his sister) worked with my mother and they were best friends. She told me that she found him funny. He would make silly faces and repeat lines from those movies. He loved dogs and would wrestle with them and chase them as if he were also a dog, which she found funny and cute. Yeah, I don't get it either. I think people from my hometown are just generally stupid and don't think too far into the future.
