In America, renters have to take their dirty laundry to a store to wash them while they sit there for hours surrounded by the dregs of society.

Does Finland give out state mandated washers and dryers? A low end one brand new costs about USD300 just for washing, no dryer

Doesn't the tenant usually pay for his own water/electricity in the US? The fuck does the landlord got to do with it

And what's the deal with dryers? I've never used one, don't think I know anyone who had one. What's the point when you can just hang the clothes to dry somewhere?

What bizarre living arrangements all around

A lot of apartments don't allow washer/dryer. You can be evicted if you are caught washing your own clothes at home.

It fucks up the plumbing which isn't built to handle washers. Also water is paid by the landlord so they don't want you to use a lot of water.

I think that laundromats are a global occurance. When I visited them, I read a book for the duration of the washing & drying process.

For me it was the size. My first flat was only 13 m2.
>>216560935
Regarding my first flat:
>>clotheslines in the bathroom/storeroom
The bathroom was shared by four other persons, was slightly smaller than my flat and there wasn't a storeage room.
>clotheslines in the backyard/balcony
No backyard or balcony.

Where do people park their cars? Is there an underground garage?
Anonymous United States No.216568477 [Report] >>216570002
>>216568351
Depends. Underground parking is expensive and dependent on the geology, so its only doable if its high land value and favorable geology. A lot of these have structured parking, either they'll make the first 1 or 2 floors a parking garage or they'll have a parking garage in the middle and the apartments wrap around it (Texas donut). Texas donut is pretty much the default style apartment building in southern cities. Or if the apartment building is central enough, transit is passable and zoning allows, you can just have no parking at all.

In low land value locations, they'll often just have surface parking.

I lived in the UK and Europe for several years, and using a laundromat was/is standard for uni students and young professionals who rent cheap accommodations which don't have inhouse laundry facilities.
So don't know why these Euros are pretending to be strangers to this services for.
