I was in love with a girl I didn't know that well and for the first time in my life I acted on this feeling. I was too forward as in trying to get closer to her but at the same time too cowardly to express my feeling directly because I felt that I had to become her friend first. So I was a weirdo who took every opportunity (even ones very out of my way) to hover over her and somehow make her like me. I think she was afraid and weirded out by me.

I got rejected by a woman for the first time (not saying I’m chad, i just rarely ask women out) when i was like 20. We were friends as part of a small tight-knit friend group. I fell completely in love with her, thought she was the one, hung out with her like every week, etc. Thought for sure she’d say yes. Of course she said no, and I totally crashed out, ruined my friendship with her, ruined my friendship with my mutual friends of her because she was in the right of course, and generally made an ass of myself. And when I say crash out I mean it ended with me being 51 50’d. And of course this was in my heavy drinking days, which didn’t help the situation.
