I married a Vietnamese woman. My parents were discouraging at first but their concerns were economic and logistics, not racial. They thought she might be a scammer, and even if she wasn't then it'd be impossible to turn something long-distance into something permanent.

Once she visited the UK and met my family though, they did a total 180 and loved her. My Dad and Stepmum even went to Vietnam to celebrate our marriage with all my wife's family and neighborhood who couldn't make it to the wedding in the UK. That's a big deal because it's the first time they'd been anywhere non-western. My Mum and Stepdad intend to go next year.
