If I was the greatest monarchy in the world at the time I would also do the same thing. Everything about the Fourth Dynasty is just impressive. Whenever somebody posts lifelike Egyptian sculptures it's always from this period, the oldest writings which became canon to the Egyptians are also from this period. Officials wrote on their tombs about how they founded villages and towns. It was basically the first golden age of human history. Everything was expanding all at once, megaprojects, urbanisation, founding settlements, forming a complex administration, they had it all. Then all of a sudden, it just stops.
