If has nothing to do with feminism or career expectations, just it's impossible for many men to save up enough money for a mahr in the modern economy with all the growing expectations from women. To get married nowadays you need to have 20k USD in cash, a bar of gold, a big house (independently owned, she won't live with your parents ofc), a brand new car + spend again 20k on the wedding, jewellery and a honeymoon in Dubai. And at the end you get a wife who won't pursue any career, she will actually want to sit at home and do nothing while you're expected to buy her clothes and golden earrings every week. Who tf can afford that? Also, max what you can expect from her is 2 kids, maybe after 10 years after marriage.
Our granddads could get a wife for 2 starving cows and with 2 cows and 3 sheep you already got a harem of 4. That must collapse one day.
