4chan post science
Have you ever posted a high quality, on-topic post and it got zero replies?

Have you ever posted a high quality, on-topic reply to someone’s question and it received no response?

The world of marketing has perfected what makes a social media post successful, but what do you think makes a post successful on 4chan?

It's funny how old that image is, because the new bait format is
>irrelevant, inflammatory screencap or webm
>"what are some X"

i don't think you should gauge the quality of a post by reply count. there's a lot of people lurking threads at all times and who appreciate the quality of the discussion without feeling the need to respond.

usually the image that gets the most replies on /pol/ is the "what is the chance you will pull a gold ball out of the box" brain teaser

I only see that on extremely low quality posts.
Anonymous ## Janitor No.10179
a big part of getting responses is in when you post in the thread and who you quote

Sometimes i attach an image I think is either relevant, at least tacitly, or at least nice or fun or something, lust provoking or not.

Does it work? Eh, sometimes, but not always, and images can eclipse your actual written content that way. Maybe there's more you can do to bring eyes to your post, but I don't want to be dishonest, I want to just state my thoughts and my opinions.
