4chan servers + administration
Not that it's related to moderation in any way, but are the software and finances of 4chan on-topic in /j/? Or should we just trust that technical issues being resolved in a separate channel by people who actually have access to the numbers?

I would also like to know about this, if possible.

Merely because I care for our site and all of you :)

I think regardless, here or on IRC, it would be nice if RA or somebody would talk to us about anything they know.

There's a good chance nobody knows anything about what is (or isn't) going on, but with everybody talking and whatever this shit is that's going down on twitter or wherever it's difficult to not worry.

Even if it's not necessarily great news I think getting everybody on the same page or having everyone know at least a little bit about what's going on would be nice. I feel like a lot of us are worried and have a lot of things to say but nobody is really coming out and saying it for various reasons.

Maybe I'm totally wrong and I'm the only one who feels that way, what can you do. But we're all here because we care deeply for the site, personally I just want to know what's going to happen with it.

I agree. RA if you're out there man, please let us know. Even an e-mail or something.

Even if it is just "we know nothing" it would at least settle my wandering heart.

If you guys decide to shutter this place, don't let it take us by surprise. I think many of us have been tirelessly loyal to the cause.

Maybe hiro's horror scenarios were just his way of trying to convey to people that "sell more passes" was the least intrusive of his available options to tilt 4chan slightly into the black, and the other two were just there to scare people into buying passes.

I fully agree. I feel like just having some clarity on the situation outside vague tweets and posts would be nice, and at least on a private level would allow as forum for us to discuss and give ideas on how to help 4chan.

I am very worried, but I think with some input we could help 4chan get back on track.

>I've spent the past two years working behind the scenes to address these challenges, and to provide 4chan with the foundation it needs to survive me by bolstering its finances, strengthening its infrastructure, and expanding and empowering its team of volunteers. And for the most part, I've succeeded. The site isn't in danger of going under financially any time soon, and it's as fast and stable as ever thanks to continued development and recent server upgrades.

What did he mean by this?

I would like to think that however I do not take Hiro as being a man to do such a thing.

Modposting in itself requires some degree of seriousness, especially in /qa/ where the forum is open for discussion among the users and ourselves.

To post like that and entertain Mr. Shkreli is the kind of deception good leadership is not built on, short of Hiro and the rest of the staff knowing something we do not and cannot figure out.

I don't like speculating without them here with us though, I feel it's disrespectful but I will implore RA and the guys to at least give us an update if there is one to give.

Really disappointing that even an answer like this is unavailable.

If 4chan was on the edge of the abyss, we probably would've heard more than a thread on /qa/ and misc irc talk.

J-List renewed, mods seem relaxed about the future and i see some fancy new things for the bandwidth crunch, so it'd be safe to trust that everything will be aight.

Yeah, I'm sure everything will be fire.

You forgot to also mention how the admin "bolstered the site's finances" and how "the site isn't in danger of going under financially any time soon"

Not falling for that again.
