Don't start dungeon-diving until after you've got better equipment for yourself and your little girl. (Particularly your little girl; she's going to be stronger than you early on, especially with a decent twohanded weapon.) Generally, you'd do easy jobs for money, then buy basic equipment and get the blacksmith to enhance it all to +2. It's not too expensive, and having a +2 item in every equipment slot will boost your defenses significantly.
Also, you should definitely ask if you have any questions, that's what these threads are for. It's a big, complicated game, so asking longtime players for advice is totally reasonable. That being said, I'd definitely recommend visiting the Adventure Seminar south of Vernis. It has a lot of general gameplay advice that covers all the basics.

so you start with basically nothing. no gear, nadda. you need to spend the first while of the game fixing that. seriously, early on, the biggest things you can do for yourself is just get ANY pv focused gear and a suitable weapon of decent quality. if you follow the tutorial stuff you should be able to make some stone longswords which is like step 1 of that, and you can hide behind your little girl to get money from the shittiest of nefias/easiest of quests until you're reasonably geared in your other slots. PV is undisputed king early on
this game has this thing where basically no matter what you focus on in combat it really forces you to do every aspect of it. you've gotta craft, you've gotta cook and eat good food, you've gotta deal with pets, so you might as well farm and fish and do everything else too. which, in my opinion, means you're basically only ever going to play one character, because you'll have done everything there is to do except play around with other combat styles, which are honestly such a small part of the overall game they barely matter
you also can definitely fuck yourself over with class/race choices. those things can set you back tens of hours. what did you pick?

there's starter guides kicking around but following them to get a leg up is basically mandatory to get by without a ton of friction. if you're just winging it and going in blind you're going to have a really rough time

Early game most missions are pretty awful (end game too, the ones that require you to travel are absurd only good for stealing stuff), you should try doing the harvest quests(ideally low weight ones, below 60 s.). Once you get gear (not even decent) just try doing hunting quests. If they're too hard, consider lowering fame at an informant

First thing you should do is perform kill quests and let your little girl carry you until you have enough plat to learn all skills from every town.
Harvest quests require you to have gathering skill and weightlifting or you won't be able to pick up shit. Also making a good basalt axe helps

Poke around the wilderness near Vernis. Do NOT fight anything, just stay near the edge of the map (so you can get away immediately if a monster shows up) and look for crimberries. You can use them in your pot for fusion's "instant ale" recipe to make booze and sell it for relatively decent money early on.

Also, yeah, ignore >>49514262 because crafting a basalt axes is an Elin thing. On the other hand, "learn all skills from every town" is just as important in Elona, but if you're playing Plus/CGX you'll get skill tickets every so often that you can use to acquire new skills without having to pay platinum.
You could maybe do "let your little girl carry you through kill quests", assuming she's got a twohanded weapon and armor and whatnot, but ONLY for the lowest-rank one-star jobs. I wouldn't risk even two-star until you've got better gear, supplies, and combat skills.
Also, if you don't already have teleportation, get a few scrolls or something. If you took the Dimensional Move feat, you're good to go.

Don't bother asking the "hunters" for help; half of the time they're werewolves themselves. You had the right general idea, though: the real strategy is to keep track of who's died, and then expand the list until you manage to include the wolf.
I'm pretty sure the event lasts until the wolf dies. You might even want to keep it going; you can get a salary for voting, plus you can try to use the vote to get unique NPCs' cards and figures.
Of course, if you just want it to end ASAP, the best way is to use a dog whistle to instantly identify the wolf.

Skills train with use. Being burdened trains your weightlifting. Skill points are more of a way to boost things you're having trouble with.
Potential is crucial. Platinum coins for boosting skill potential, and potions or picnic baskets for boosting stat potential, although those are more of a long-term goal. Something to work towards, so you can keep growing even stronger.

END - Elder Crab (also pretty good for STR, their breeding rate is way above dragons)
DEX - Fish (not the ones you get from fishing but the flying ones that show up when its raining sometimes, quicklings have a higher stat but their breeding rate is abysmal)
PER - Wisps (low breeding rate, second best would probably be rabbits)
LER - Demons (also low breeding rate, but they're the only non-human race that gives LER)

Meshereda is really stand-out for me. There are some that were clearly designed with the backer's dick in mind and some that know they'd be cringe in any other context but just run with it. Verna fits because weird shit pops up all the time and it doesn't feel the need to justify itself. Gaki is half joke, half coom and doesn't ask you to take it seriously. Even if those don't explicitly fit, they're not trying hard to and are easier to handwave as oddities. Horome on the other hand is designed to be a massive-titty fox mommy that gives headpats, but the way it, Kinu, Misaki, and Kizuami are implemented allow them to fit in the world almost seamlessly.
Thus we arrive at Mesherada that struggles to blend in to the world because it carries too much baggage, is a super srs and cringe design, and leans more into the "autist's attempt at masking a self-insert" than the "autists attempt to add a cute/cool character" range. It's the standout because of how much it stands out, if that makes any sense. I'm probably being harsher on it than is reasonably justified, but I can't bring myself to care for it at all.

But let's say you're a follower off Mani and use your religious connections to make her into a hive mind, that sounds funny.
