Put your fumo in the dryer and she will never be the same. Just take a clean towel and squeeze down on her carefully until dry. If you’d prefer to be extra thorough, I’d suggest using a hair dryer on a low setting to finish off. Then sun dry if it’s sunny where you are.

Can confirm driers are not the move. It was probably an overreaction, but after her river ride, I thought I needed to risk putting Reisen in the dryer to make sure she was bone dry. Even running low heat and in a pillowcase, the glue on her hair started to separate, so the edges are split and it doesn't lay as flat as before. I only did it because I was worried about growth because she had fallen in a bit of a scummy section at first.

What gear do you use for your fumo photography anons? Is picrel good bc I believe I can get them for cheap on buyee.
On that note, is photography even that good a hobby? I was considering either buying photography gear or buying a piano (I learned how to play back in grade school) to practice Touhou music, as I need to get a hobby to avoid general stagnation and bedrotting desu. I’d appreciate the input of any anons into both hobbies. Thank you!

My camera is firmly in the "it gets the job done" category. I've still got a ways to learn with it, but I'm having a good time.
Photography is a funny hobby, because I feel like it isn't so much the shooting that you enjoy, but rather everything around it. Going out somewhere new and exploring is fun, and you tend to look at things a very different way when you're trying to compose a shot too. It definitely makes you appreciate your surroundings at the very least. Photography is also a good excuse to indulge in other hobbies. I'd never have bought a doll if I didn't to take picture of it, stuff like that. Chasing gear is also a big trap that people fall into, so as long as you avoid the thought of "I can't shoot this because I don't have X lens" as much as you can, there is a lot of fun to be had.

All the diaper hats are filled with foam.
You're supposed to just place it on top of her head if you want her to have her ears visible.

Thanks, anon. There's a lot technically wrong with these photos, but I'm slowly learning what to do to avoid them. Photography is really nice in that way, since there is the artistic aspect, but there's also the very strict rules of how lenses and light works to follow too, so there is always something to improve upon. I've still got a long way to go, but I'm happy with my progress so far. One day, I'll catch up with the good photographers on this board

Thanks, anon! I'm most happy with that bridge shot too. I'm quite fond of shooting along that little creek, but its a bit overgrown with weeds at the moment so I couldn't play with the water to much. Picrel is the best showcase (mostly unedited) of what the creek looked like from the pictures I saved. When they cut it back, I can easily walk down to the water. Some of the first pictures I took with Saya were along that creek, actually, so its a little bit special to me in that way.
The more I look at it, though, the more I'm upset with the final pic I had. I think I could have got some good framing for one (would have had to stand in the street with my lens) and could have use much better settings (a fair amount of chromatic aberration and burnt out whites in the final pic.) What can you do but learn from it, though

Most of the bootlegs I've seen on Ebay are based on the official Touhou and Vocaloid ones. One that stands out next to those is many listings from Chinese sellers for multiple variations of Konata from Lucky Star. I can't find any proof of that ever officially being made, so my assumption is one or more people in China likes that series and decided to make them. The broken English in the description also seems to imply they are custom but I don't know.

looking at the amiami anime expo website implies that reimu, marisa and new cirno will be sold at the expo. However, the trippy thing is that I also see is a monika fumo which I've never seen gift or amiami announce. Anyone have info on that one?

After a month in Italy, me and Patchy are heading home. I think she enjoyed our time at the Vatican Observatory.

My pre-ordered Hina and Mannaka Reimu arrived through mail today! It has been only 7 weekdays (with 2 weekends in-between) since I received the payment notice; EMS proving to be a really good service, at least locally.
Mannaka Reimu feels even more huggable, or at least easier to hug, than Mannaka Koishi (possibly due to not having a hat), but Koishi is still closer to me...
