This makes it seem like the origin point of everything. It seems to be Shiki. And yes it's confirmed Aoko is one of Shiki's heroines in MB. Nasu has been feeding the grooming joke for 20 years. The other heroines see Aoko as a real threat, especially Ciel and Shiki's first thought of where to go when he found out the mechanics behind the statues was where he met Aoko. He's basically serves as a guiding light for her in the end, proof her choices weren't mistaken and someone who balances out the darkness of the moonlit world.

I think about this quote a lot. Not because of the evident conflict of interest, but because there's mountains of evidence that it is bullshit. Type-Moon is the best example of this. They have a money printer, yet the Mahoyo sequels (for which I don't care about, because it's straight shit) cannot be visual novels, because the market is too niche, and it was too expensive to create. Mahoyo came out almost three years before FGO.
Using another example, Robert Downey Jr. only had two meaningful roles after his character died in the MCU.
Doctor Dolittle in a completely forgettable remake, and Lewis Strauss in Oppenheimer.
Also, a documentary centered around his person, but that's not a feature film.
He then proceeded to come back to the MCU for 96 million USD.

Honkai writer Shaoji asked Nasu about a DDD sequel in which Nasu replied perhaps in a parallel world because he has too much on his plate.

He instead used concepts planned for DDD in FGO. For example, Beast IV's "Comparison" ability was originally DDD's Kanata Ishizue's.

When he was writing Mahoyo, the theme for 2000-2010 was "consumer civilization." Then 2010 to the present with FGO, the theme was "how to take responsibility for what has been consumed."
