What sort of irks me a little bit about them though is that from an image composition standpoint I think they're usually pretty good, so it's kind of a shame to see them get "wasted" on such a generic style. Like the other anon said Flux is basically unmatched atm but good luck running a 22gb model locally. Flux-1 Schnell has a 12gb vram version which is possible but I haven't tried it myself. (Chroma and Krea are also flux-based models)
I've also seen DHXL pop up and there are pony-based 3dpd models if you're still into that I guess.
I don't really care much for realism its just fun to toy with on occasion and UncannyValley is pretty quick and versatile so its nice to keep around.

Same here and I'll admit it's a nice color combo, but we already have so many characters with blonde hair and red eyes...
In hindsight, though, I guess it sort of "balances out" because Yachie's eyes went from being red to yellow, even if in this case I admit that I actually PREFERED seeing her with red eyes.

finally got around to an attempt at something "action-y"

not really sure if I'm satisfied though, feels kinda plain to me. Ideally I'd have wanted to maybe add some danmaku behind or around Yuyuko but feels like the current composition doesn't really give much room for it feeling wise.

I did entertain the idea of making Reimu topless with her sarashi, but I wanted to see if it was even possible or not to even try for such a composition. It appears the answer is a: Maybe?

the models definitely struggle the moment you shrink the characters past a certain point, so I worked around this by doing a yuyuko focus and then cropping her out and pasting her into the bigger composition, seemed to have worked for the most part when I inpainted at the original res.

Also remembered that the models really don't like environmental transitions from pathway to stairs, it really only wants one or the other. So I had to fight with that a bit.

Yeah, I've been archiving my stuff on AIbooru for a while now, finally caught up to the Tenkai gens we had a few threads ago so I figured I'd make a wiki entry for her just for fun.

Yeah uh... I was originally only ever going to upload my own stuff to this place but I figured I'd open an exception and upload other peoples' Tenkai gens too this time around since the whole character was a thread effort rather than a singular one by me. I also felt like having more gens by more people would help solidify her character.
In hindsight maybe I should've asked for permission here first, I didn't take any credit for any of the gens, but I tagged almost all of them with drawfag because I didn't know who genned most of them, except for Reavski's but that's because he's already got his own artist tag on that site as well. It's fine I think, a lot of the images I upload don't even have metadata anymore either because editing them in Photoshop gets rid of it. They're not super strict about it it seems.

aside from that, how are you liking drawing all those little symbols on her snake thing? I did a traditional drawing of her the other day and doing all the symbols, not to mention colouring them all, felt exhausting

That's probably it. I've always browsed /jp/ and exclusively /jp/ (even if nowadays I don't really browse it that much anymore outside of these threads). I simply make the OPs, post in the thread, and then make a new thread when that one's near the bottom of the catalogue. It never so much as occured to me to try to "link up" with any other thread or to post my stuff elsewhere because "elsewhere" isn't Touhou-focused, so I'm not interested. I'd imagine most of the regulars here are like that which is why we exist in a bit of a vaccuum as you say.
On a side note, I never thought about it until now but isn't it kind of funny that we're isolated like this? It's like we've got our own little Gensokyo here.

it's just a sample size of two, but even so, september of last year doesn't seem that late, then. /slop/ is huge, like one of the fastest ai threads on the site, while being less than a year old just the same. and, you're right that vtubers are more popular than touhou; i don't even hear of touhou in comparison (but it has showed up in my youtube feed here and there rarely). plus, the barrier for entry to create a new vtuber is extremely low, compared to a new 2hu coming out. so i guess i was just projecting, in that i see them as the same in that vtubers don't seem any more significant to me than touhou characters, since to me they're both just anime girls. so i didn't really see why >>>/vt/vtai would get plugged everywhere, but /2huai/ isn't even known

Forgot to reply to this, but the like count is what keeps me going.
Kidding, I don't find it to be that big of a pain. I always do everything in the same order so that may be why:

subject count, solo, (if applicable), artist name, touhou, checkpoint(s) used, character name(s), and then I just describe the character(s) from the top to the bottom, followed by pose/actions and finally background, image composition and other misc. tags. You don't need to tag absolutely EVERYTHING, I think, just enough. I am autistic though so maybe these monotonous things are more bearable to me than others.

Somewhat, yeah, mostly texturing tags, if anything. Part of the style "update" I tried going for last thread ever since that Rumia gen. I went through all the shading and texture-related tags on danbooru and found out that I REALLY like the way linear hatching looks, especially on clothes. Downside is it seems to cause conflicts with the no_lineart tag so I have to use it at a pretty high intensity which in turn causes some very weird things to happen with the background and overall coloring of the image sometimes. Picrel is a raw t2i example of the things it sometimes does from when I tried genning that Reisen2, speaking of which:

I think my brain is so wired to seeing it as a shading method that I just don't see it, hell, I think it looks good. The thought of body hair never once crossed my mind, but I do know what you mean.

I tried coming up with something with Aya and Hibaru but Hibaru's wings were too much of a pain for the AI so I had to give up, sorry anon.
I really wish someone out there would make LoRAs for Len'en characters... a lot of them inexplicably just don't get picked up by the AI despite having a very respectable amount of tagged artwork on danbooru. Even handholding the model with outfit tags doesn't seem to work at times.

Different environments justify different behaviors. The slower, tightly knit community of /jp/ is ill suited to the daily output Civit incentivizes, especially when we happen to be home to very commited creators that justifiably take more time to edit their images, add a little story within the image, even make manga panels. It's also important to remember Reimu's hair was always meant to be black / dark brown, so was Marisa's outfit and Rikako Asakura's hair as well. You can see this on the covers of the PC-98 games. It's a lora I just baked. Thought I give it a shot after seeing other people attempting to gen Len'en characters. Not perfect by any means, but not terrible either. Gathering images that capture the character design well is still the hardest part. Thankfully SDXL can work with fairly low sample size this one used 20 images.

the few times I created a LoRA I'd generally end up using about $5 worth of Buzz until I'd get it right.

you can farm for regular buzz by just being a regular contributor in Civit by posting gens and reacting to posts. But that's really only something feasible once you establish yourself as a competent member there.

Typically done locally. I have some buzz on Civit if I need to do larger datasets (ie styles) because it requires more runtime. Characters aren't too bad to do locally, imo. If you got the card to do it locally then I'd say try it out.

And in case I can't do it, do either of you reckon you could do a Saragimaru lora and share it? I think she might be my favorite design from Len'en but I can't get the AI to do her outfit all that well. Admittedly it does get pretty close though, which is impressive, but it's wildly inconsistent and there are still lots of imperfections, maybe because she has two outfits.

Comfy. /ldg/ on /g/ has a guide for WAN.

Once you've got your settings down correctly (or use a ready-made workflow), the results can be impressive. The problem is they're also hugely random, with the prompt influencing very little where the animation goes.

I used to see people talking about their waifus or fictional character crushes and started wondering if maybe there was something wrong with me since I never felt the same. Wondered if maybe I was broken somehow. Especially after getting into Touhou... yknow all these characters I like and yet not a single one of them I have feelings for besides as characters
Then I saw her in Th20 and at first I just thought "wow I really like this character they're so funny" but I've been thinking about them non-stop and I get this feeling in my heart kinda like that choking feeling I get when I'm really anxious but less choking and more giddying and I started asking for more art and gens of her everywhere, talking about her to anyone that'd listen, downloading pictures of her and then it slowly sunk in
