She was eventually completely mindbroken by information to the point of breaking down and failing to remember.

Since Reimu and Marisa freed her, she has the chance to recover, no longer under control of the Lunarians. However, she can never return to the life of innocence she once knew. Her old home is gone. And she's got plenty of mental trauma from the thousands of years of being brainwashed, not to mention her own guilt for having to create beings without purpose.

Yuiman is a broken girl that will need a lot of gentle love and care to help rehabilitate her. It could take many years, but would you be up to the task to bring her smile back?

They had Kaguya at one point, though, whose power is pretty similar, and outright used to create pure lands and protect against impurity.
Junko could likely similarly deal with impurity, though she obviously isn't aligned with them.

But of course, if you're like me, and you've concluded that Kaguya and Chang'e (Junko) are actually artificial people meant to be used as anti-Kegare weaponry, then Ariya fits right into the puzzle; unable to secure her allegiance, they simply sealed her off and used her and her powers as a template for their own, more controllable (not actually) tools.
The end products weren't quite the same as the original, but there's nonetheless significant overlap between them, which also explains why Iwanagahime was supposedly able to safely dispose of the Hourai Elixir, a medicine of such immense power that it exceeds even that of Sakuyahime.

Junko has one of those vague powers that can basically do anything, much like Yukari. It's entirely believable that she could simply apply it to the state of kiyome to make something pure far beyond what the Lunarians can even conceive of.

Does Sakuyahime even have any power over time? She's only established as a goddess of volcanoes, and even then, it's because she's a water goddess and uses that to calm volcanoes. I guess you could argue for a connection between that and "change" as a concept, but it's honestly kind of a stretch.
I figure that Kaguya's power is ultimately just a very refined version of Ariya's, so while Ariya's power is raw, primal, and very powerful; Kaguya's is precise and flexible, which means she can't use it to affect as large of an area as Ariya can, but she can use it in many different ways, including inverting it to push eternity into an instant, making it more suited towards the Lunarians' purposes.
I also think that Chang'e had the same ability, which is how she managed to obtain and consume the Hourai Elixir, since even Eirin couldn't make it without Kaguya's power, and this is also why the Lunarians still keep her around after she engineered the death of her own son and caused the Junko persona to happen, spawning the immortal archenemy of the Lunar Capital, who they can only ever exhaust and never be rid of since her other self is also a crucial tool for them to maintain their own existence through both the time manipulation and control over their rabbit workforce, making it impossible to just kill Junko (which they're not really bothered by, despite how much kegare it creates, like we see with their immediate execution of Kaguya) or even seal her away like they did with Okuninushi and Takeminakata. And they're even more dependent on her now that the Asama Joue facility is no longer operational.

Honestly though, there's a lot of fun to be had with Yuiman and Ariya and how they'd interact with other characters. It's just too bad that we're never going to see any of it in canon and fanstuff will probably not go beyond the shallowest possible interpretations, either.

Yes, seems reasonable. Just mentioned the little 清vs純 fact just in case since there might be an intended distinction. What we've seen of Junko's power seems change oriented while the moon and Kaguya seem more about preserving. ZUN also stated the relation of Junko's ability to gods before being named, so it feels like something else imo.

I'll admit, my only reasons for thinking that are:
-The myth with her sister, mountains(unchanging from a human perspective) vs volcanoes(fleeting and changing like flowers)

Her given name is also written in kana, though the name of her homeland and namesake Yuimankoku (維縵国) is written with kanji as normal.

Maybe the name thing is meant to represent how the Lunarians debased her and turned her into their tool, since naming things are established to give you power over them and define their nature, as we also see with Sakuya (who also loosely relates to this game through her famous namesake).

Toyohime rather enjoys her comfortable life on the moon and had no issue letting the brainwashed Yuiman perform slave labor for over a millennium to sustain that lifestyle.
