Well, it's possible to train SDXL loras on 8gb of VRAM but it takes forever, trust me lmao. I've got a small dataset that's almost ready. I've been training on NoobAI vpred for my workflows, but I can train on whatever checkpoint you prefer. Might help keep your style consistent, idk. Direct link would be good.

Afaik quality tagging matter much more than quality dataset. I made a whole bunch of tools to streamline tagging, both for Loras and regular t2i.

No worries anon, my bad on my part. I meant the download link to the checkpoint you use to gen so I can train the lora for you. Dataset is the collection of images that will be used for training. Each image has has .txt file which contains the tags that represent image. They'll need to have the same name. Example: image1.jpg and image1.txt
They're used to be a great rentry for training loras when it first came out and was improved as knowledge grew over time. Showed the very basics of it all. Too bad it got purged for whatever reason. I'm sure there's plenty out there now, I just haven't looked for one.

That's a good question. I've always thought using the base model (noobai, wai, illustrious, pony etc) was the way to go for training. In any case, send the links for both and I can see what I can do.

By the way, I'm no expert in any of this. I just do what works for me.

I went ahead baked that lora to give it a test run. I like to train them so that certain features are baked in (eye/hair colour, tail and hairstyle most of the time) but keep where you have to prompt the clothing.
Feels a bit more flexible this way if you want them to wear something else and it works most of the time. Couple of examples below. No clean up, just prompts.
Right image of both side-by-side has some of the proper character clothing tags and polearm only. You can see the character more or less keeps their hairstyle and eye colour.

That really depends on what you want to see and your sense of style and fashion. Mixing&testing is the key here, you can start using your favourite artist and add more of them or random ones. The more, the merrier or the worse. Try to use Gelbooru and look at 'More Like This' section (at the bottom of a pic) if you can spot something that catches your eye, save the artist's profile somewhere and start testing around. This goes even for nsfw stuff.
It'll take a long time but it'll be worth it.

Sure, but I'm not particularly tech-savvy so my explanation may be a bit lacking
The gist of it is that all models interpret your prompts a little differently because of the way they were trained. Better prompt comprehension might allow a certain model to, for example, pull off more complex angles or poses when compared to another. Thing is though, all models also have a "default style" associated to them because of how they were trained, and for some models, that default style might "bleed" into your gens regardless of how many artist tags you use, affecting the overall look of the gen.
My go-to checkpoint for a very long time was Personal Merge, but I switched to WAINSFW v14 because of its' better prompt comprehension. Thing is though, WAI has terrible style bleed and it heavily impacted the look of my gens, I hated it. I voiced my frustrations here and an anon suggested that I take advantage of WAI's better prompt comprehension in the t2i phase to get the overall image composition (pose, angle, so-on) and then use Personal Merge in the i2i phase at a high enough denoise level to change the overall image style to something I like again, but not high enough to where it changes the poses and angles that WAI is responsible for. Has been working extremely well for me so far but it's a very niche case.

For overall smarts out of the box, yes. NAI shills will tell you v4 can gen multiple characters better, but that's just an obfuscated regional prompting plugin. ONOMAI might shake the scene up a little once they release their 3.0 model to the public, but that's not looking to happen any time soon.

Also, I need a sanity check here. Has dedicated-model-ESRGAN upscaling always defaulted to CPU composite in i2i (see pic)? I'm almost positive it didn't use to be this way, but at this point I'm doubting my memory.

Sometimes a giant snake will appear out of nowhere and there's nothing like that in the images I used for training so idk. Other times random objects will appear at random.

Nothing, it's controlled by one of the parameters. What's your network alpha/rank set to in Civit? Try lowering it, 8/16/32/64/128 are your choices. To give you an example, the lora I linked above was trained at 16 alpha, Whereas the previous one I was testing was done at 32 and it came out to about 400 MB.

I'll add to what has already been said and suggest grabbing a style LORA you enjoy discrete elements but not the whole of and throwing it in at a lowered strength. See how it breeds. You may get lucky.
In addition, do keep in mind that any given style's TRUE FORM doesn't really come out until upscaled. You may not, for example, get enough fidelity for a style employing hatching at the raw t2i resolution; similarly, a style LORA that overcooks the image (blurry edges, discoloured areas, sort of thing) in t2i may actually turn out just fine once upscaled. Or you can turn it down/off for i2i. Takeaway: upscale before judging.

My bad, I got the terms mixed up. Setting the dim lower will bring down the file size. If I remember right, 16 dim/8 alpha will bring it down to about 200 MB. I think the idea is that alpha is half of the network dim you set on civit, you can have the same which I've done in the past without any notable issues on civit and local.

I'm not that well versed in Len'en lore but I think it is, dimensional rifts are more of a Yabusame thing as far as I'm aware but the two of them are together so often that I guess it's not that big of a nitpick. Tsubakura is a scientist so it did get that part right, surprisingly. I wouldn't be as optimistic about lesser known characters, though.

Honestly, the more Len'en characters the better, but maybe Sukune? I genned her before but it's impossible to tard-wrangle the AI into doing her haniwa hat. Yaorochi somewhere down the line would also be cool as well in order to finish the EMS trio. There's a lot more I want but I don't mean to start overbearing you with requests now, just do the characters you want at the pace you feel comfortable with.

Two things.
Namely, ever since I started using the hatching_(texture) and linear_hatching tags, a lot of my t2i gens have been coming out very weird- Sometimes they're washed out and/or colorless, or have a weird purple-ish/brown tint all over them, other times they have a weird, uhh... "circle" around them? Picrel is the perfect example of that issue because it has both of them, notice how washed out and colorless the background looks. I even tried adding vignetting, partially colored, monochrome and greyscale ot the negatives but with no avail, I have no idea why that's the case. The worst part is if it happens it's not just for one gen, it's for EVERY gen that uses that same prompt regardless of seed, so I usually have to either remove a prompt or just try adding something random and praying that it fixes it.

Another thing is also something I've been meaning to ask you guys, to the anons who switched from reForge to Forge Classic and have used Forge Coupler for both, do you not also feel like Coupler is way worse on Classic? Or just straight up doesn't work how it's supposed to? It's basically become unusable for me which REALLY sucks, I went from doing gens with 3, even 6 people to struggling to make gens with 2 again. It's really annoying.
