what's the most interesting thing you've seen there?
how different is the culture and mindset of 2channers and futaba users from ours?

i’ve seen some threads on 2chan here before, but just a note for jannies: these boards are very niche Japanese media and often linked to otaku stuff like touhou. hope this thread is okay

the biggest difference is that unlike 4chan, 2chan is a textboard, which is why SJIS art were so popular over there, it was either that or linking images on another website
they also have one trillion boards

2chan is not 2ch/5ch, I thought this was basic knowledge around here

2chan aka futaba is an imageboard that 4chan aka yotsuba is based on. 2ch/5ch are text only boards.

Something interesting about futaba is that they have a slower serious touhou board and another one just for touhou shitposting which is faster. I guess most gyates come from there

I've started lurking futaba recently, and some of the things I've noticed is that there is a guy (group?) on nijiura that likes to spam random threads with scat images. the report queue is also just a public board with image uploads disabled, and sometimes some angry toshiaki will jump in there to shit it up yelling at the admin for one reason or another.

The Japanese summer is pretty similar to that of the US's east of the Mississippi river, albeit it the peak months vary a little in timing. Humid as hell, and sitting at 30-40 or higher when heat indexes get calculated. 30c is honestly very comfortable after peak summer passes. Even with a bit of humidity.

The Touhou boards are slower than some altchans. Did all the younger japs move to twitter and pixiv?

some people in this thread seem to be confused about the japanese date system. Remember, it's year/month/day over there. So on some boards, like futaba's /b/ equivalent, things are pretty active. The '25' at the start of the posts means 2025, not the 25th day.
