Ingots is really tough, I just went through it.
You need to first find two paper ingots through junk/furniture gacha, then reroll a furniture merchant until they sell you a couple of bird cages (took a few hundred home influence for me to do), dissemble those birdcages with high smithing in the hope you learn the recipe, then make vertical pipes used for birdcage crafting out of paper.

Normally, if you dupe something with kettle then hammer dissemble you only get ash, but in this case, if you dupe the paper pipes, craft bird cages, then dissemble to paper pipes once more, you can dissemble that technically non-duped paper pipe into a paper ingot.

It's a real bitch to set up, but once you have it, you have a sustainable source of paper ingots to make lightweight tent appliances and stations out of.

probably only through learning what is dangerous and what isn't by getting hit and then remembering, elin being far easier to know what is dangerous generally than elona imo. wiki probably has some information on what skills different species has but if you're fighting any elite enemies they're sure to have something off spec that will fuck you up. casters as well are generally fatal early game as well as when warrior type of basic species show up. all this is going to depend on what kind of character you've started with too as things with lower life stat stay weaker to these things for longer

How does eating equipment to gain stats work? Sometimes I eat a raw equipment with an attribute bonus but I get no permanent stat up in that attribute. Equipment isn't just rings, and even rings aren't just "rings". There are other variables on top of enchants, like material, PV/DV and the item's type.
Maybe you will find an diamond engagement ring with 3 good enchants (+material enchants) and later find a crystal speed ring with a good speed value and three uninteresting enchants. You can either keep your old ring or bring one of its good enchants to your new speed ring (or equip both, if your second ring isn't that great). Maybe you will get a good material hammer in the next floor and that speed ring will be more interesting despite the bad enchants. Maybe your mesugaki wife needs a new engagement ring after she ate the previous one.
It's not about getting bored after crafting your perfect set, it's about getting gear from nefias so you can get more gear from nefias until you get bored of it. Not just good enchants to turn into runes, not just good damage/defense values, not just rare materials, but the whole package with randomized values.
tl;dr Noa likes random shit, that is all I'm saying. Just remember that you can always install a mod or two if you don't like something about the game (for me it's KK With My Sister).

I checked the source code, and the skill stuff is easy to find in the AttackProcess class: if a weapon has that enchant, Magic Device and Casting get used instead of the weapon skill (Sword/Axe/whatever) and Tactics/Marksman.
