In the original it really looks like the guy is delusional and obsessed himself since what we see of real Miku has her not showing much interest in the dude outside of standing outside of his door and knocking. It really reads as "I think this girl is obsessed with my because she showed some minor concern/kindness for me".

With the new song we see Miku showing a lot more concern for him and offering emotional support as a friend. It recontextualizes a lot and, at least to me, feels more like the original song is the dude struggling with depression and coming up with reasons why his friend constantly checking in on him is actually a bad thing "because she is delusionally obsessed with me"

I did misread the story about it. It wasn't Mimukauwa Nice Try, the story was actually Nunununu was denied being in project sekai because the winners of the rookie and top100 in vocacolle get their songs added to the game and the year Nunununu won the rookie entry, his song was deemed too inappropriate and had too many references/parody to copyrighted material so they had to put in the runner up which was Zunda Party Night. However, Nunununu still hasn't gotten a song in the game despite their songs being very popular
