I was a retarded NEET for most of my twenties but am trying to get out and start living life before I hit thirty with no accomplishments. Has anyone taken a working holiday visa without financial support/parental help? I have no family to fall back on if I end up penniless in Nihonland but I'm not above working three part time jobs there if necessary. I saw people mentioning they work a few month in ski resorts or hotels catering to foreigners to get compensated room & board which seems like a safe bet. I'm thinking of working and saving for six months then fucking off to live in a sharehouse and travel, extend my visa, repeat the process for a total of two years away. I have the mandatory minimum of savings but it's obviously not going to last a whole year. My Japanese is subpar so better jobs are out of the question. I don't know. I guess I'm asking if anyone has experience living on a work holiday visa with no safety net. All the paperwork involved looks scary but I want to leave my comfort zone for once.
