It sums up this cup well really. Even though we finished the highest in a cup regardless of the level it was at since the old management in the previous era in Summer 2023 it feels like an even lower low to end on than after spooning Summer. We returned to good form again and have a return to the elites to look forward to in January/February next year, but this cup has been under a cloud really. I've been around virtual divegrass for some time now, hitting a decade this summer but this is the first time I've gone through a whole cup and felt like I don't think I actually enjoyed anything or found it >fun at all, the best part was when it was over at the end. This cup was just depressing really, I don't know if I can really expect much to be better next time. By all metrics we're better than before, we had more wins than losses, Shiteyanyo and Billy were right in the Golden Boot race up to the end, Meido was in the Golden Glove race until the last four matches. There's a lot of positive signs, but the vibe maybe hasn't shifted just yet.
There should still be a lot to look forward to in Winter though and we've had some people come forward and help that have done a really good job this time. Three anons have exhausted themselves >testing with us and done a great job. One has to leave unfortunately cause he has another team to look after, but we wish them all the best (just not against /jp/). Also we're probably going to be getting a new third manager in Winter after an impressive preseason and cup proper helping us and being a testing workhorse. Some of our aesthetics anons have done good work too, Get out of /jp/ now has animated eyes and Shiteyanyo had some visual improvements. 103's art has been really appreciated this cup, please stay around and keep doing more for us. But more so thank (you) for watching and coming to /jp/ games, we at least had some wins this time rather than nothing.
On another note too was talked about in Summer that we might run a tournament and come back to it and ask more about it during this cup. /jp/ League will not be going ahead next year or at least not next spring due to a mix of reasons; key personnel being unavailable, PES 15 not being good to work with in general and uncertainty over the next version or ruleset likely to be used in the main cup.
