With you being an outsider and having none of the protections the villagers do, you're completely at the mercy of denizens of Gensokyo. If you want to ensure your safety you'll have no choice but to find someone willing to protect you. Luckily the ever kind Hijiri Byakuren would love to resolve your predicament. All she wants from you is for you to wed one of the youkai and be married into the Myouren Temple. There's nothing for you to complain about, and Byakuren gets to show all of Gensokyo a perfect example of the highest form of human-youkai coexistence. It's really not an offer you can refuse.

The Myouren Temple canonically attracts bad actors that will attack humans if given the chance, and Byakuren canonically is terrible at keeping her disciples on a leash (not to mention her obvious youkai bias). You are very likely to meet a gruesome end if you stay under her "care".

What's the worst, most painful and gruesome bad end you could get in canon Gensokyo? Aside from getting on Eiki/Hecatia's bad side.

Even if you pissed her off I doubt Eiki would ever lay a finger on you. She knows you'll inevitably end up in her office.
Anyway pain-wise it's probably one of the slow, drawn out deaths. Poisoned by Momoyo or Medicine, slowly frozen to death by Letty, subjected to any number of horrible diseases by Yamame. Utsuho is weird because you'd think radiation poisoning would be a major issue in Gensokyo but nobody who has fought her has suffered from it so maybe Gensokyo just passively gives everyone SPF 1 billion.
Obviously being torn apart has to be one of the most gruesome way to die, most hus could probably do that but the biggest risk would be the violent small fries. Rumia is genuinely one of the worst hus you could run into, though in classic fairy tale monster fashion she's apparently not that hard to outwit and her powers hinder her just as much as they do you. There are probably dozens, if not hundreds of other nameless youkai on her level that are just as brutish and animalistic, but without her built in handicaps.

Technically it's not that "magic" wasn't real so much as "magic" was either natural (manipulating natural forces through things like ritualism wasn't unusual), it was fraudulent, or it was supernatural and came from God. You can slot a lot of Touhou magic in "manipulating natural forces" and in fact that's exactly how Patchouli sees it.
