Now, I don't mean the prettiest or the hottest, I'm talking strictly cuteness, the kind that makes you want to ruffle their hair and pinch their cheeks.

For me, it's gotta be Futo-chan. Everything about her is just adorable, her energetic personality, her antiquated speech, her silly hat, her floppy sleeves, how short she is, her...uh, uniqueness (retardation). Sure, she's burned down a temple or two in her time and may or may be responsible for turning Tojiko into a daikon, but how could you possibly stay angry at that face? I can't even bring myself to look at her lustfully at all (even though she wears such a short skirt...). I just wanna give her a big ol' hug.

Kasen is incredibly cute. Despite defaulting to something serious, kind, and scolding, she's so worldly that she breaks from it very easily, getting flustered, angry, smug, confused, shocked, or whatever. The fact that she hid her true nature, and with a cover story she had incomplete knowledge of, gave plenty of opportunities to showcase that. It helps that she's surprisingly bad at improvising, so she can get dragged around by momentum for a bit. She's very different than the other sages and oni, and I'm grateful to Azuma for being to illustrate that so well.

That's tough but Cirno has something I keep coming back to. If only I could be reincarnated as Cirno's adoring sidekick. Cirno's mind is simple but that's part of her charm. She will cry if she scrapes her knee but put on a brave face in any situation to protect someone weak. Her thoughtless arrogance in the face of authority and might, clumsy attempts at acting cool with her poses and words, barely soft almost completely flat chest, messy shock of hair, angelic childlike smile, complete obliviousness to others' sexual reaction to her careless words and gestures, and tomboyish conduct in spite of her effortlessly perfect feminine charm and beauty, are all too much for me to stand.

It would be unbearable to stand next to her, having that guileless smile pointed at me while tilting her head, knowing not of my depraved urges nor of the depths of my longing. I could put my hand to her cheek, to other parts of her body and she would not suspect a thing, because Cirno is pure.

The innocence and vulnerability becomes the reason why I cannot attack, she must be protected at all costs, because to lay hands on Cirno would be tantamount to staining edelweiss with black oils, and it is better to enjoy the heat of a fire while partly lingering in the cold winds.
