Do you have the link to this full video? I remember it being fucking insane. They clear the village going house to house with a literal sack of grenades tossing them in and magdumping every russian that comes out. Then they evac a bunch of civilians. That drone shot is the cherry on top, hitting a drone at that distance through the trees with a rifle shouldn't be possible.

He did shoot it. It's behind the trees, but keep in mind that objects on camera appear smaller than they do in person. It wasn't moving very fast at that moment either. For one of the most experienced and well-trained soldiers in Azov, that's not a tough shot.

Rifles have been reported by both sides as preferable for downing these fpvs, as opposed to shotguns. You don't see many clips, because they are failed hits, but even your average mobik with a rusted AK-74 with ironsights is able to down a lot of drones like this.

Trench holes will need a redesign most likely. An initial pit like for catching nades to start, except its for catching free fall/dive bomb fpvs, then a turn and into a short hallway with a berm a soldier can shoot a particularly dedicated quad drone safely from if it enters

There is footage from both sides doing this sort of clearance, though Ukraine looks far more competent.

And I mean thick, not some small time shit.
The problem is in those sort of holes the concussion is going to kill you anyway, the answer is always deeper and better prepared holes.

I wonder if I would be practical to equip a number of soldiers with compact shotguns, akin to something like the serbu super shorties, along with their regular rifles. Or alternatively use those underbarrel breaching shotguns. It would be heavier but if you loaded them with some bird short they may work at least for the small FPV drones
