Some stuff was intentionally more sci-fi than real. The M8A1 for example wouldn't happen because that program didn't work out years before BO2 was a thing. It's a funny thing like how AN-94s still show up every now and then in games in much greater capacity than real life long after it didn't replace the 74M.

Really? Why'd they discontinue it? You'd think that a video game appearance would help with sales.
>Vector
>somehow almost feels outdated now
What makes this more strange is that the Vector is basically Kriss' only viable product, and it's reputation is built off of dwindling vidya appearances. I know they're making a new handgun but they really have to breathe new life into the Vector, that or make a new non-AR long gun if they want to survive.

I got no clue how to get an AN94 but on XM8s there exists conversion shells for SL8s. It won't be the same as an M8A1, that'd need some custom job, but the internal system probably isn't too different from the XM8's, which is more or less a G36 in a new shell. It'd be more doable as some custom order than the Russian space magic AN94 with its really weird system.

The FDE FNX-45 is also discontinued. The black variant might not be but even so, I don't know if I would expect them to be supported for a whole lot longer given the release of the FN 545.

>>63804937
Idk but it probably had something to do with it not having a whole lot to distinguish itself from other rifles with more military contracts like the Sako TRG M10 and Barrett MRAD. Although, it seems it may still be available abroad under its original TPG-3 A4 designation, don't imagine they sell bunches though.

Anyways the reality is that most dudes buying .338 Lapuas are probably buying a cheap Remington 700 which is a half step from exploding (the bolt is not a good fit for Lapua, at all, hence why .338 RUM exists and why the Remington MSR is kinda lulz worthy) or a Savage Axis to dick around with or because a boomer told them they need that level of power to take elk at 200m. Most people who buy more expensive rifles are probably putting something together on a custom Stiller or BAT or Borden action coupled with a Bartlein, Krieger, Lilja etc barrel, and couple that with the increasing popularity of 338 Norma, the market for the remaining portion who would actually be interested in a "premium" 338 Lapua factory rifle is pretty slim.

On that note, fun fact, .338 Lapua has significantly more potential than .338 Norma owing to its greater case capacity BUT most factory rifles don't actually accept magazines long enough to take advantage of that with the heavy 300+ gr bullets, and at CIP length the two are about equal in velocity, meaning you are probably going to have to get a custom rifle if you really want to take advantage of the round. 338 RUM and 338 EDGE are inferior to Lapua since you have to load the bullets shorter AND they have less case capacity, they basically only exist so poorfags can use their Rem 700 or standard long action receivers for a .338 Magnum without blowing up their rifles but are otherwise pointless.

Problem is that he was kidnapped by Menendez in Panama and was a kid when Alex Mason was already 56 (note same age, that has to be on purpose). If you make him younger you have to move Panama forward and make Alex older, or make BLOPS 2 take place earlier which is goofy because then it runs into the nu-MW games.

In other words, either David is 56 or they have to pull a Tokyo Drift and fuck the timeline.

Personally, I think Advanced Warfare was the last CoD where the story was really enjoyable (although I feel the ending is week and bland), and Infinite Warfare was the last one where the gameplay was fun (in spite of the utterly ridiculous plot and the dogshit boring space dogfights that get forced into everything). I played the first iteration of the new MW series, and it lacked the same pull of the originals. I think it isn't serious enough to be autistic fun, and it isn't as balls-to-the-wall badass as the originals so it can't be stupid fun, and so its just middling.

Or maybe I just grew out of it, and all that makes the old games appealing is nostalgia.

Wdym? New ghost is embarrassing. The line between cool and cringe is being effortless (hence "tryhard"), old ghost took a skimask he was already wearing and painted a skull on, probably got a few laughs and then carried on with his day and the implication is off the job he's maskless and normal. New ghost goes out of his way to wear an airsoft mask with hard plastic bits stuck to it, and furthermore, wears it off duty at the local pub and people act like he's not a freak. Plus Ghost was the Boba Fett of MW2, where he was cool because he looked cool, said little and we knew very little about him. New ghost talks far too much and his backstory is overexplained, making him lame; much like the actual Boba Fett.

That's too kind to IW's plot. Gundam at least implies that there are substantial other elements of the Earth Federation active, even if all we see is Amuro and Co. soloing the best Zeon can throw at them. Infinite Warfare, by contrast, repeatedly hammers into your head that you and one are ship are it. The entire rest of Earth's military was smoked in the initial surprise attack, and you don't even get halfway through the campaign before your companion's ship also gets blasted to pieces. (you), Lebanese chick, Discount Space Sgt. Foley, and Johnny Five single-handledly beat the entire SDF, even if it does get everyone but the Lebanese chick killed in frankly emotionless and underwhelming ways.

NTA but quite a lot. I've heard Ukrainians claim Polish territory is "Ukrainian ethnic/native lands" because of something about Kievan Rus a thousand years ago. One of their narratives is about the "The Second Polish-Ukrainian War" which tries to depict Volhynia massacres as mutual bloodletting rather than genocide attempt.

On an individual level, I've read insane shit like https://x.com/DevanaUkraine/status/1688966482636541952 which says Hitler hadn't committed crimes by 1941, which is to say invading Poland isn't a crime in her eyes. Between these guys, the Baltic states, and many other narratives I've read from them, I wonder how the hell they come up with these.

Some of the most retarded shit I've read to slander Poland came from Ukraine. One professor named Roman Sheremeta called Polish survivor testimony "Soviet propaganda" regarding massacres done by Ukranians in the 20-40s. He tried saying it was NKVD disguised as Ukrainians, like the Soviets had time in the middle of eastern front to send thousands of men to kill Poles and blame Ukrainians. They allegedly did so well that all the Polish testimony (thousands) said it was Ukrainian neighbors they knew for years and not new people. This particular massacre the Ukrainian government still continues refusing exhumations to this day even when Poland requests it a lot.
>>63818480
I've heard that too. Some Ukrainians for some reason think Poland is "occupying" their land. My worry is after Russia goes home, if they're going to be even harsher.

I think most people get Call of Duty wrong. It's not so much a military video game, it's a military MOVIE video game. There were movie references like Behind Enemy Lines from the very first game. Crew Expendable from CoD4 had an Aliens reference https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0qcTZV6xNoI then Wolverines in MW2.

The devs, IW, Treyarch or whoever, clearly want cool factor above all else. Same reason why AN-94s appear in so many video games and the AK-74M hardly gets anything.

Military intervention doesn't work out for the US very well.
We backed the Taliban during the Russian Invasion of Afghanistan. Guess what? They took a couple of our towers in response years later.
We killed Saddam and that created ISIS.
We assassinated Gaddafi and that created a refugee crisis for all of Europe.
We established a government in Afghanistan only for it to be taken by the Taliban in under 6 hours.

>huge scandal, polish farmers mad because they are fucked by cheap grain from ukraine, society is mad because they are being "poisoned" by shitty grain
>after some time and change of government in poland farmers get pissed off again because PIS politicians rallied them up
>to stop ukrainian grain that was legally allowed to be sold in poland they organize protest and block off military cargo coming to ukraine through poland
>new polish gov wants to resolve this
>zelensky is pissed off about military cargo getting blocked and ukrainian grain potentially being blocked from selling it in poland/being allowed to be transported through poland (don't remember which)
>"We opened a temporary sea export corridor. We are working on maintaining land trails. Disturbing, some in Europe play solidarity in the Political Theater - turning the issue of grain into a thriller. It may seem that they are playing their own roles. In fact, they help to prepare a scene for an actor from Moscow" - zelensky quote about whole situation

Let me add some context.

There was grain from Ukraine going through Poland supposedly for elsewhere. Said grain was made with EU banned pesticides which both lowered cost of production (thus prices too) and made it much worse for human consumption. I mean, it was practically toxic animal level feed only. The grain was not allowed to be sold in Poland but that didn't stop people from rebranding it once it left Poland then trying to sell the disguised product at Poland. Between the health problems and lower prices, many Polish farmers (and people concerned for Polish markets) were pissed. It was a completely unnecessary shitshow IMO and all people had to do is not sell in Poland. I don't know if any of the grain was sent to Africa or wherever they promised.

Zelensky added more fuel to the fire by implying people unhappy at this or protesting are

I'm interested if 3D printing tech will ever reach BO3. In that cyberpunk 2070s future, have advanced 3D printing where even highly complex gizmos can be created in way smaller space than a factory floor. This is also why enemies use any mix of weapons regardless of origin, probably because they're 3D printing the shit out of them using stolen, copied, or open source schematics. It's also why ammo boxes refill ammo no matter what gun you have.

I'm not sure how the hell you enforce royalties or patents besides praying whatever software is on the 3D printer can detect and trace illicit printing. Or how much money is made when in-universe open source shit exists, leaked from disgruntled employees and anyone with the right printing hardware can poof up a not!AK the game's datafiles calls high quality and widely used. It's like if the Luty was comparable to modern rifles and so easy to make anyone with a 3D printer could make it. Is any patent enforceable when even today people use AI to analyze art and plagiarize the style? Even if software exists to check for patents, what stops reverse engineering or attempts to tinker with a blueprint just enough to offset detection? What stops people from jailbreaking older and outdated 3D printers that are still good enough?

Whatever, it's just a game. But I can't help but wonder if companies make more money selling specific mixes for materials than the design itself. At least guns must be relatively cheap if high quality open source shit exists.
