You will be much poorer because of AUG accessories and upgrades. NATO AUGs now have bolt releases so I gladly purchased an M2 recently

I had one.

It is expensive.
It isn't actually made in Austria, but Alabama.
The trigger is genuinely ass, which can be fixed by throwing even more money at it.
You have either your choice of very good Steyr magazines, or the much cheaper /more common AR pattern but the stocks that take those are fragile.
Barrels are not as good as as the original Austrian ones either. Getting really good accuracy out of them is challenging, made worse by the awful trigger.

Basically you should only buy one if you want it purely for the aesthetic and $2000+ means absolutely nothing to you. A $400 PSA AR will shoot circles around it all day. If you want a bullpup, there are tons of options that are both cheaper and better.

I also have one. Recently got the suppressor gas plug in it with an RC2 mini. Helps cut down the sound, which is the worse thing about it. The gun is fucking loud because you're so close to the muzzle and the chamber is right under your cheek. The trigger is heavy and stiff, but it breaks cleanly and as a combat trigger I think it's decent. For precision shooting it's obviously too heavy, but I am still able to get good accuracy out of it. Using my TA-31F ACOG I can get around 1-2" groups all day. 69gr matchkings of course getting close to 1".

IMO if you have the money and you already have AR-15s and you like the gun, then you should get it. It's different enough and cool enough that it's a good change up from the normal rifles. The quick change barrel is cool and I really like the HBAR barrel setup. I have it written down somewhere but I was getting like 200fps more with it. So far the gun is 100% reliable, shoots well and balances well even though it's heavier than an AR-15. It does it's job as a tool for sure.

what are you after with it? if you just want some sort of bullpup start with the keltec rdb, which is a lot of fun, has a great trigger and other modern niceties, and doesn't break the bank so you won't feel bad if you don't end up liking it much and it sits in a closet awhile until you sell it. if you want the aug specifically for the look and are able/willing to put in some more money go for it.

Enjoy the worse trigger and slightly out of dimension stock causing after market parts compatibility issues because you couldn't afford the extra $300 in magazines for a superior product

I’ll probably wind up using it as a duty rifle.
