personally, "john wick" is up there with "Highlander" in the "films that should never have had sequels" category.

by the time they're doing gun-fu battles where the annual bodycount of NYC in the 80's get dropped in an hour, and every single homeless bum is part of some super secret society of assassins with a membership total in the millions, it just turned into a parody of itself, and didnt so much jump, as pole-vault over the shark.

With the sommelier part and the "Kimber 1911, .45 ACP, 7 rounds" scene later, I've never wanted to fast forward a movie in the theater more. It's like they knew that gun hobbyists appreciated the attention to detail in the first one, so they decided that pausing the second movie to read of specs sheets is the best way to pander to that crowd. Apparently it worked because they kept doing it in the later sequels, but I hate it.

The reason they didn't do that is because very few of the people watching John Wick can afford a guccied out custom Korth but a lot more can afford a beretta or a glock. It's product placement. Gun companies don't buy TV ads, they buy movies and videogames.

Ever since 2013, a growing number of gun owners only bought a gun due to politics and fear. Combine that with a lot of them being addicted to social media before ever buying a gun, and we get a pretty different batch of people. I feel a little bad for them though, because the internet isn't designed around finding good information anymore, so they end up being fed advertisements disguised as information.

>"Im looking for a job, that pays well, related to my military experience (Shooting and Killing the marked target) so I can support my kid on the way," he allegedly wrote, according to court documents. TLDR No, relative to any other nation in the Americas or Europe excluding the UK. Austrialia has the most restrictions and most comically retarded lists of 'weapons' that are banned, While it will still be possible to thread the needle somethow and get a gun, it will be a joyless, bureaucratic ridden and expersive exercise placing you under state surveliance and unannounced home inspections to own a 22 or a shotgun and generally limited to wealthy older people with political connections.

BANNED WEAPONS INCLUDE

This shit is like James Bond going to Q Branch and whatever redditor twink new-Q's new actor is, is walking Bond down a hallway. Just rizzing Q branch up with all the latest upgrades they've made. Top of the line specs, unrivaled performance. Bond is going into his mission with better gear than they've ever given him. And then Q hands him a Bic Pen, a Timex watch, and a Mazda Miata where the only upgrade is that you only become 50% gay by owning one.

If John Wick wants to be Tacticool James Bond then they need to actually serve as covert marketing for the high end shit. Kingsman did this fairly well, basically being an ad for Huntsman and Savile Row in general. He needed to be infiltrating some sort of high end British or German hunting club where a Holland & Holland SxS is considered the poorfag gun and show off the truly bespoke and custom stuff. Fuck it, those super short STGW57s with the fuck off huge muzzle brakes and braces like Ian shot would make for a great muzzle-flash-only sort of fight scene in those movies.

The scene in TGTBATU where Tuco jankily assembles random parts into a pistol is unironically a much better scene of showing a professional in a line of work where a gun is a daily tool figuring out what he needs and finding the perfect combination of parts to meet his standards.

I wonder what movie makers are going to do for "hero pistols" in the age of polymer strikershit. With no hammer, safety/decocker lever, or grip panels, they are visually boring and manufacturers can only distinguish their pistols from the competitions' through different grip texture and slide serration patterns. You couldn't even use pistols that aren't so public mainstream like the APX, P10c, or VP9, because they're still all going to look the same on camera. None of them are ever going to achieve the iconic status of pistols like the Beretta 92 or Jericho 941 that are visually distinct out of the box.
