Post cool paintings involving war or weapons

Also does someone knows that painting where there’s a man maintaining his rifle, a woman on a bed and a target list on it? It used to be posted all the time in this board a few years ago but i lost it

Alec Colville was very /k/ adjacent, he was an official war artist for the Canadian army in WW2, incorporated firearms into several of his paintings.

Might I suggest the work of Philip R Goodwin.

Also Ron Volstad, Alfred Waud, Angus McBride

It is an easy way to contrast the faces with a typically blue or light colored sky. Back when advertisements and other works were printed, and you had less control over the quality of the print in magazines or journals, the red makes the contrast and print better.

I've also been looking for a /k/ painting. I've seen it posted here a long time ago and I used to be able to easily find it on wikipedia, but have never found it again.

It's an Orientalist painting where a Middle Eastern (maybe an Ottoman or Persian) soldier or town guard had just killed a guy. The soldier/guard had metal armor on (chain or mirror armor IIRC) and had a metal axe. They were standing sideways with their back facing

Scotland Forever by Lady Elizabeth Butler (1881). A recreation of the Scots Grey's Calvary regiment charging at Waterloo.

To get it right, she set up her easel and had troopers charge at her repeatedly, so she could get the energy of the scene right.

It was such a popular painting, they recreated the same scene in film 90 years later in the movie Waterloo (1970)

So basically these were US Army comics with tips for infantry and mechanics when doing PMCS. They eventually granted equipment (generators, weapons, everything a joe fucking used) and vehicles faces and the ability to speak. They stopped giving out physical issues I think in 2019 or 2020. I found an old box filled with them in my motorpool and they had 2016 editions. Its only digital now and even then I cant remember if the website died and they gave up doing them altogether. But Im sure there is an archive somewhere you can find and look through these. Its a good way to see cultural shift in the Army over the decades. Women only wore pants in the newer issues lmao.

This img conveys more than ass, if that's not your focus. It's a Zen like peace of the simple, unclutered life. A rythmic crashing of waves and random white noise, with a calm interlude between that symbolizes the stife we face amongst the peaceful moments. And don't look at his ass, homo. He has every right to shoot you, inspite of living in a coastal state.
